PDC 2011 World Championship The Final Tips

Sorry for the poor update yesterday, but the main thing is we got that winner. Adrian Lewis finally done us a good turn and made it through to the final, where he'll meet Gary Anderson and one of those men will be the PDC World Champion for the first time in their career. We've also got Arron Monk taking on Michael van Gerwen in the Under-21 World Championship Final, which we also have a nice bet for.

We're 18-22 for the tournament, but the most important statistic is the profit and right now, thanks to a strong run in the last three matches, we're looking at a profit of +8.4 units. Hopefully you've been following all tournament and you're rolling in clover. If you've not followed every bet, we've got a bet or two for you for the final. Also, I'd love to hear from you once the tournament has finished about your darts betting escapades. But let's get to the nitty-gritty.

First, let's get to the side event, this Under-21 World Championship Final.

Under-21 World Championship Final:

Arron Monk vs Michael van Gerwen.

This match is the best of 11 legs and it's probably not gonig to be a classic encotner, but it should be interesting. One player in the final, Michael van Gerwen, has already established himself in the PDC rankings, while Arron Monk is an up-and-coming talent that is slowly moving up the rankings.

Michael van Gerwen didn't impress in his first round match in the World Championships against Mensur Suljovic, while the last time Monk was on the TV was at the Grand Slam of Darts, where he played some good darts and heavy scoring.

The key thing here will be the frame of mind of both players. Van Gerwen hasn't had a great year and has been shocking the last few times he's been on TV. Monk, on the other hand, will be full of confidence and looking to impress and that's why we have to back him. He's looking solid and van Gerwen's confidence will not exactly brimming.

Arron Monk to beat Michael van Gerwen 19/20 @ Victor Chandler.

Recommend: 2 units.

So this is it, the end of our journey and what a tournament it's been. We've seen it all and I don't think we can argue that the two players who have played the best darts have made the final. You can argue Mark Webster should be here for beating Phil Taylor, but Lewis was the better player with the better average in their semi-final. And you could have no argument that Gary Anderson has been the player of the tournament, averaging over 100 in every match, scoring the most 180s of any player this year and looking every bit the champion.

This is Lewis's second major final and he's finally showing the promise everyone has seen. However, he's playing the man of the moment and I can't look past Gary Anderson. I also think there's a slight bit of value in the prices, as I made Anderson around a 1/2 shot and there are some bookies offering a bigger price, so we have to go with that.

As for the other markets, well, looking at the 180s market, they have the line right at aroud 30.5, simply looking at the stats. There's no value to be had there, as I think that's absolutely spot on where I would have set it myself. Anderson, looking at the stats and how I think the game will go, should be good for 17 or so, while Lewis should be good for around 12 or 13. Of course, there is the potential for more from both players, but I think Anderson might just run away with this and if he does, the line could be in trouble. Of course, if it goes all the way, it will be crushed. There really is no in between, so there's no real value to be had. However, Blue Square are going 1/2 on Anderson to score the most 180s and that should be a great bet.

Finally, the highest checkout market is rather high at 136.5-140.5 depending on where you're betting. I don't like the look of that simply because both players aren't the greatest doublers. Lewis, however, does like his big combination checkouts and might be relying on them to keep him in the game. Boylesports have Anderson the favourite for the highest checkout and I don't think that's the case. Lewis has the highest checkout between the two in the tournament and the fact he might need these big outs to stay in the match means we've got some value at just a shade over Evens.

So, here are our bets for the final:

Gary Anderson to beat Adrian Lewis 4/7 @ Stan James.

Recommend: 3.5 units.

Gary Anderson to score the most 180s vs Adrian Lewis 1/2 @ Blue Square.

Recommend: 3 units.

Adrian Lewis to score the highest checkouts vs Gary Anderson 21/20 @ Boylesports.

Recommend: 2 units.
